Post a new topicby aldorakitty on Tue Jan 27, 2009 4:59 pm

Im a 22 year old women that had a healthy daughter two years ago without help. but i want to have more kids before i get my tubes tied when im 30. i know the risks of having multiples so this isnt a random unthought of choice. I want to take clomid or another fertility drug to have multiples. Can anyone tell me if a doctor will help me or if i need to get online? any advice?

Why?? Put your life at risk, not to mention your babies life at risk JUST so you can have twins, triplets, quads, and so on? Do you really want a high risk pregnancy, bed rest, risk of premature birth, preemies in the hospital for weeks maybe months, increased costs for everything, stress on you, your family and your marriage!!
Multiples are not glamorous at all. It is very STRESSFUL!!
That is just crazy. You have 8 years left til you are 30.

I , for one , completely agree with pocketpixie28 and who told you that your tubes will be blocked once you turn 30 ? did some doctor tell you that ?

tubes generally get blocked in case you have some kind of infection or genetically. In case you still want to have babies even after your tubes are blocked ( i don't know how those will be blocked), you can go for IVF. Also, to be on safer side you can give your eggs and ask them to freeze those eggs . You can use them at later stage to become pregnant.

Hope this helps . In case of any questions , I will be happy to help to best of my knowledge.

Thanks garytoh! However, I think she means she is going to electively tie her tubes with a tubal ligation at age 30, so she won't have any more kids, meaning she wants to be done having kids by 30. That is how I read it. She does not have a medical condition that would "block" her tubes. She has no reason to use fertility methods at all. She is just being selfish, because she wants to use drugs that would get her pregnant with more than 1 baby so she can have as many kids as possible before she turns 30. That is not the purpose of fertility drugs at all. Not to mention, that not everyone who uses clomid and other such drugs gets pregnant with twins, triplets, quads, etc., some only get one. Which is the whole purpose of fertility. I do not think she understands the consequences of having multiples, otherwise she would not consider the option.
