Post a new topicby livingwith on Thu Apr 24, 2008 2:04 pm

I am 41 and had a few urinary tract infections over the last 20 years, nothing unusual. In Decemeber it felt like I had another UTI but the antibiotics didnt help. Hi Kelly,
My wife has IC and has had for ten + years, and I can tell you, you can live with this and things will get to the place that you are to know your body and can tell when you need to take it easy. There is a lot of pain and I am not belittleing this, she is fighting an infection now, but you will be able to adjust to life. I think you have echoed a truth that a lot of docs don't get, Elmiron does nothing. I have talked a lot of ICers over the years and find that all have been prescribed Elmiron, and all of said that it does nothing. Please understand I AM NOT taking this disease lightly for as said we have lived with this for more than a decade, and that is to say WE HAVE LIVED WITH THIS for more than a decade. So Be Blessed in your efforts to find relief and may your pain free days over take you. g0j0g0
