I am a 39 year old female with Interstitial Cystitis. I was engaged to be married when I had my first episode with IC My husband to be and I were watching a movie at his house. It was about 12 midnight and I suddenly had terrible pain in my bladder. I went to the bathroom and had pain and burning. I felt this urgency to urinate but couldn’t go. I was crying because I was in so much pain and the doctors’ offices and pharmacies were closed. Jimmy had a prescription of muscle relaxers from...Read the full article

Hi I just wanted to let you know that I know what you are going through I was diagnosed with IC over a year ago but it took over three years for them to figure that out I went to a pain doctor gyno urologists and there trying to convince me that there is more going on than just the IC that is causing my pain, but yet all my tests are coming back normal, so now I am at my last stop and I would recomened it before you consider having your bladder removed, I go to a physical therapists and the place that I go to they actually deal with women who have IC. I have not started PT yet but knowing that I am at a place that is well informed about what I have is comforting enough for me, I myself have three children and I know how hard it is to even get out of bed somedays right now I am on elmiron amitriptiline atarax and perks. the first three worked ok for a couple months but now the pain is so severe that the only thing that does get rid of it is the pain killers. and to be honest it just numbs it enough for me to get through the day does not get rid of it. I hope you think about trying PT because they said the same thing to me and mentioned that I have my bladder removed and I nearly fell out of My chair I am only 26 I am not even close for something that evasive. so I hope that you give a thought and see if maybe it would work for you. Good luck and hang in there and remember your not alone as you see on here there are alot of people just like you.

Best wishes
Jenn
