Post a new topicby Theresakemp on Mon Feb 02, 2009 6:07 pm

Hi Everyone

I have had Interstitial Cystitis for a very long time but it seems to be getting worse. I am not on any medication but was informed that Cranberry Juice is good but recently I was told that it is not good.
Can anyone respond???

In the literature I received at my MD office, it said the cranberry juice is and "acid bomb" and we should NOT drink it! Anything with high potassium is also bad for us.

I also read that the Cranberry Juice is an "acid bomb", that would irritate the bladder. Also, it kills only E-coli bacteria, not other bacteria, that could be causing IC. You need to do the Broth culture to find out exactly what bacteria, if any, are causing your IC. If you have E-Coli, there is a natural product called D-Mannose, that helps to detach E-Coli bacteria from your bladder wall.
