Does My Husband Have IC?

Post a new topicby tiny_suzi on Wed May 06, 2009 4:23 pm

My husband is having some urinary issues. He is 47. About 4 week ago, he started having to go to the bathroom more frequently than normal (once every 2 hours); he saw his family practice doctor who did the normal UTI work up and found nothing. The cultures came back negative and so did the blood work. His PSA reading was 1.1 which is also fine -- and a DRE did not real any annormalties of the prostate.

My sister has IC so I fear that my husband does as well. Now here's the strange thing. Urinary frequency is his only symptom. He has to go to the bathroom 10-12 during the day. But during the night he does not have to. He goes to bed at 11:00pm and wakes up at 6:30am -- and he never has to get up. Is this a counter-indication for IC? meaning is norturia is almost always presence in IC patients?

He will see an Urologist in about 2 weeks but right now he is going to hell.

Thanks.

Suzi.
