IC+reflux (gerd)

Post a new topicby Fraulein on Wed Jul 08, 2009 8:49 am

I've just fairly recently been diagnosed with IC after having bladder distention. The tablets I was prescribed were working wonders though they did upset my reflux a little, but I could tolerate it. Then they started to make the reflux really bad so I stopped taking them. I was hoping that I'd be one of the 60% that the bladder distention process cures temporarily, the doctor had told me. Alas no, the IC came back in less than a week. Does anyone have both these diseases & how are they coping with them? After reading these posts on this forum it sounds like IC is way worse than the reflux. I've had reflux for a few years & have found an over the counter medication which combined with my prescription medication keeps the condition manageable. As for the things that can't be eaten if you have IC, life seems pretty dismal especially having to cope with the reflux too. By the looks of things there's only one medication for it too & that can cause your hair to fall out. I feel so depressed I wish I was 75 & not 55. At least that way there wouldn't be that many more years I'd have to put up with it.
