Hi everyone!
I am new to this wonderful forum. I am 41 years old diagnosed last year with IC. I have been off of Elmiron since Feb 07(took it for 14 mos) only to have it come back a few weeks ago. But this time a lot more worse than the first. Since then I have had a partial hysterectomy (removal of cervix, uterus). Is there anyone out there that has had IC for a long time and how long were you taking Elmiron? And any other helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.
This condition is so frustrating and deeply depressing. I have days where I can't even concentrate at work or just do regular house cleaning? I also find myself to be extremely moody, unpleasant to be around sometimes. It's crazy!!

Thanks!

Hello,
I am 43 years old and was diagnosed this June. I know how you feel, everything around me has fallen apart. I try not to be depressed (on anti-depressants), but I am still grieving the person I used to be *superwoman*. I have been off work for 4 months now and still cannot return, not only is the physical pain too much but I am also depressed. I like you am miserable half the time and sad the rest. Although my husband and family are supportive, they do not understand the depth this takes you. I feel like I have lost my career, my identity and self worth. I just want to be the person I used to be and I don't think that will come back.
I am on Elmiron, Vesicare and Wellbutrin.
Hope you feel better soon.
We are all in this together.

Feeling lonely tonight.

Sad One-

I am sorry to hear that all is not going good for you. I too was once "superwoman" and feel so lost!
My career is on the line, everything that I've worked for seems almost hopeless to gain back. At least your family is supportive as mine is as well. Some people just don't understand what it is exactly that we IC'er's go through. I will have to look into the Vesicare meds.

Right now I have to finish cooking dinner, the kids are howling!!

Talk to you soon Sade One
Best Wishes to you
And thank you for your reply
