Sorry for getting back to you late. By now you know the answer.
Certain characteristically benign calcifications do not need biopsy and can be followed. The rest can be biopsied stereotactically. Here and there are cases, however, that for technical reasons cannot be biopsied stereotactically. They need surgery.
