calcification on a mammagramDear Dr:
My mother had a mammagram which showed calcification on it . They have been watching it from year to year( she has a mammagram yearly). A friend of mine just had a mammagram which showed calcification and her Dr. wants to have it checked out. Is my mother's radiologist being negligent and not investigating these calcifications. sincerly, carole buckley
Re: calcification on a mammagramThere are calcifications and there are calcifications. Some look definitely benign. Some look benign but bear watching over a short period time say 6 months or so. Some need to be biopsied. That's why it's so hard to be a radiologist.

Thank you so very much for your prompt reply. I am very impressed. I will have my mother call the radiologist to discuss the type of calcifications. Again I thank you. carole buckley
There are calcifications and there are calcifications. Some look definitely benign...
