bleeding during menopause

Post a new topicby andreaw on Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:04 pm

I recently had a d and c to remove a polyp, about a month ago. I have also been told that I'm starting menopause. I am currently taking Prempro but have been having bleeding which I call a menstrual cycle (my doctor says it's not a menstrual cycle). I was under the impression that the d and c would remove the polyp and alleviate the menstrual cycle. Three weeks after the d and c, I'm bleeding again. I've called my doctor and he's calling in a prescription that will, he says, stop the bleeding and my menstrual cycle should taper off after a few months until it stops all together. Does anyone have any advice? Should I find another doctor? I'm 44 years old and really stressed over this menopause situation. I'm not sure I should have had the d and c if it wasn't going to alleviate my problems. In addition, I'm not sold on continuing the Prempro - although my hot flashes and irritability have lessened considerably. Will stopping the hormone only exacerbate my problems?
