Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I'm 62 years old have been on Estrogen/Progesterone rapy approx. 20 yrs, specifically on Prempro past 5 yrs. Have some concerns about being on estrogen length of time, although have no cancer history or family history of cancer. My doctor started me on Evista 3 weeks ago I've been experiencing lots of hot flashes, chills, night sweats. se worse at night really interfering my rest. se problems likely to continue or will y get better in time? Also, my concerns about Prempro justified if I have no family history of cancer?

Evista is known to cause hot flashes in approx. 25% of patients. Estrogen therapy is very apprpiate but has its risks also. I would consult your M.D. to talk about it again.
