Nearly 50 years of migrainesI have had migraines for nearly 50 years now. I got them as a very young child, and only occasionaly while a teenager. But since I turned 20, they have become my life so to speak.

Re: Nearly 50 years of migrainesI'm with you there. My experience with Topamax, as well as my stepmother and a friend who also has chonric migraines... ALL of us agree we'd never take Topamax again. Stepmother calls it the "stupid pill." When I was on it, could not find my words, got lost only a couple blocks from home, got in a car accident. Seemed like it might work a little bit, but definitely not worth the side effects, and also didn't seem to help for a very long time (couple weeks maybe). This is really one where you need to be "careful operating equipment." Good luck!
Re: Nearly 50 years of migrainesI am currently taking Topamax and it has been a life saver for me. With my doctor's ok, I did titrate up to my dosage a little slower then recommended which did ease some of the side effects. At times I did have the dopamax side effect, but that is all gone now as well as the majority of my migraines. I wish you the best with Topamax.
