Can Migraines trigger episodes of depression?

Post a new topicby calymo32 on Sat Sep 19, 2009 8:49 am

I am a 36 year old female and have a history of migraines, nothing followed medically, just relieved with OTC medication. I had a migraine last Saturday that ruined most of my day, needless to say, however, what is concerning is the fact that I have missed an entire week of work following this, but not due to residual migraine symptoms, but more like depression symptoms. I am not typically a "depressed" person. I am on no medications for anything. I have done nothing, literally, for the entire week, I am sleeping all the time, all day long, no energy when I wake up. I am happily married with children and do not have any stresses, that I am aware of, that would trigger this "depression" episode. Anyone every had these symptoms or heard of anyone with similar story?
Thanks
