Migraine

My daughter has been carried by emt to er twice now for having major headache and seizure like convulsions. We saw a neurologist a couple of days ago and he gave her topomax and a sleep agent for the evening. She had another episode today; but since we found out what it is; the nurse was pro-active and gave her advil and put her in a dark room. She is doing a little better.

My question is, does it take time for topomax to get in her system and start doing its job? Is her having these episodes twice within 6 days common?

I just need some advice. Waiting on her neurologist to call back..
