Did anyone take Chantix and develop migraines?

Post a new topicby freakyfrakes on Sat Sep 22, 2007 9:20 pm

I haven't have migraines for over 17 years and am now suffering from cluster migraines on a daily basis. I am now on Topamax which makes you feel just lovely as many people know. I am trying to find the route of this bout of migraines and woundering if anyone has experienced the same thing with the quit smoking drug Chantix?

Yes, but if a migraine and headache were the same thing I wouldn't feel like I was losing my mind I think am discovering there are different levels of migraines some are painful and some make you feel like your head is going to explode. My poor husband has never seen me in so much pain. Hopefully I will figure something out soon, because this Topamax has me way to doped up and stupid!!!! Thanks for the reply.

My spouse of 20 years has started chantix two weeks ago. She is now in the hospital for a non stop migrain. She has never had headaches like this . we stopped the chantix about aweek ago and is still in the hoptital going on 6 days. they can find no reason for the constant pain . she has also become very strange in her behavior at somes times. We feel sure that chantix is to blame. if any one has a antidote for chantix that might get rid of her migrains or a time frame in which we can look forward to when the chantix effects wear off, let me know. I am extremely worried about her.

I am still having problems with my reactions to chantix and I stopped taking it over a month ago. I have no idea how long the side affects will last. No one will admit that chantix is to blame but I know it is from this. Please email me at [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed]. I am trying to contact FDA to get information together. I found other people who are having many long lasting side effects. Something needs to be done about this drug.

I took Chantix for 6 weeks about 5 months ago. I started having migraines so severe I had to go to the e.r. twice in one week. The doctor at the e.r. said the Chantix was causing the migraine and I should stop taking it immediately. I did but I am still having migraines. FIVE months later!!! My family doctor has been no help, it is like he took it personally that I wasn't one of the success stories of Chantix users! He told me "it is just a headache" and "it could be menopause". I am a 42 year old healthy female who has migraines caused by Chantix. I don't want to sue the manufacturer, I want relief!!! I am absolutely miserable! I can't sleep, EVERYTHING is too loud, I am cranky as hell and I really don't care! Now they have put me on this wonderful Topamax that makes me dopey and now my face has started tingling and it hasn't stopped the migraines!!!!! If anyone has ANY suggestions please, please, please share them!
