environment related migraine

Post a new topicby jagsb on Tue Jun 17, 2008 1:58 am

i am having migraine headaches for a few years now. I have observed that the headaches occur during meetings and presentations. These headaches are not tension related as i found to get headaches even when i was not involved in the presentation, i.e i was a part of the audience. I am trying to further shortlist the reasons. Any suggestions ? Any body having similar symptoms?

What sort of lighting is in the room? that may have something to do with it.

I know that when ever I go to the cinema, I always end up with a headache or mild migraine

Hello; I had a similiar situation and what caused my migraines was the flurescent bulbs (lighting) that was in the room, especially if it was above me or right in my view!! That triggered them most of the time. I am not around them much anymore, but that is a cause of some migraine sufferers. Now when I am in a bright room or with that type of lighting, I wear a very light shade of sunglasses in the room. That helps a lot. I even wear my sunglasses in the my home or anywhere I feel like I need my surrounding dimmer. Don't worry if you look out of place with sunglasses on in a building, etc.... if it helps... DO IT!! Give that a try. Of course there are so many triggers that I have, especially high humidty and barometric pressure in the air. That makes me very sick and go through the stages of a darn sickening migraine. Hope this helps, good luck. And being nervouse does not help out either!!!!
