Migraine with unusual accompanying symptomsI have migraine headaches for which I take Zomig, which stops the pain. I suffered for several months before I figured out I had migraine, because some of the symptoms are NOT usual for migraine. Specifically, I sometimes have migraine accompanied one or more of the following in addition to headache and nausea: cold sweats over my entire body, but primarily the trunk and back, shivering, diarrhea, abdominal and muscle pain. I almost always have accompanying nausea and will often throw up several times. Has anyone else ever had diarrhea and/or cold sweats with their migraine? There appears to be no particular pattern to the onset, but usually I feel the back of my neck tighten the day before, sometimes only on the left side, sometimes on both sides, and the migraine usually starts first thing the next morning with a slight headache when I awaken, which quickly worsens. I've learned not to assume it's just a slight headache and take Zomig right away, because if I don't it always turns into migraine and the longer I wait to take medication the longer it takes for the migraine to go away. However, last night I awoke after three hours of sleep with a blinding migraine, with nausea, shivering and cold sweats, which went away within the hour after I took Zomig. When I woke up I still felt groggy and not well, but was not in pain. Why do I feel terrible upon waking AFTER several hours of sleep following the cessation of a migraine attack? And what's with the sometime cold sweats and diarrhea?
Anybody?
