My migrains ....I get migrains in the right side of my head/face and my eye and then it moves to the other part of my head. There is pain but not very intense. I just feel really dizzy. My head feels really heavy.
I am also sensitive to light. I get moody. I feel weak because I get naucious so I do not want to eat anything. My ears also feel as though they are blocked. My face or my jaw gets stiff. I feel the migrain down my face into my jaw (feels like it is in my gums or I have a tooth ache). Just to make sure I went to the dentist to get a night guard but that I don't think it is helping. Or even if it is then it is not helping alot. The only medicine that I take is excedrine migrain. It helps temporarily but it comes back again the next day or my head still feels heavy and blocked. This is really frustrating becaue I am a student and I have to study and do my assignments but my migrains get in the way and it is effecting my grades. My migrains started two years ago when I was a junior in high school. AT first it was migrains mixed with the cold but I didn't know I had migrains. I went to the doctor and explained to him my symptoms but the doctor completely ignored me and gave me a temporary relief cold medicine. That did not help me at all. My migrains and cold got worse. I ended up with a terrible sinus problem. I went back to the doctor I got more medicine. It helped with the cold and congestion and the sinus but I still felt that my head was stuffed and blocked. Since then I have been having migrains. It got really bad. My grades in school dropped. I felt depressed not knowing what is wrong with me. It was just terrible. I had migrains day and night for many months(almost a year) and non stop. I went back to the doctor and went to a nuerologist and she perscribed very small tablets. I do not know what they are called but those tablets were a miracle. I was to take one tablet a day for thirty days and I did and it helped me so much. My migrains were gone for an entire year. It would come back on and off and was not intense and went away. BUT now it is more intense and I feel like it is going to get worse. I have been having these migrains now for a about two weeks and this couple of days it has gone really worse especially with my eye. I feel like it is the cause for the loss of my vision (it has gone down/worse over time). Well, I have recently found a new doctor so I have an appointment this week some day. I just really want this to go away. I am so scared because I really do not want my grades to go down. Sigh Sigh Sigh tearzzzzzzzzz.... My Question: Does migrain cause jaw stiffness and blocked ears? - In my opintion, I think my jaw feels still and feel migrain throbs ( a little ) because the nerves are there; in the gums/jaw. BUT I don't really know. Just a thought.
Re: My migrains ....I have not heard of jaw stiffness as a symptom of a migraine
Re: My migrains ....My migraines often include symptoms like a sinus infection or toothache. Sore, stiff jaw; ear ache; pressure and tenderness around sinuses; stuffy nose. I've tried antihistamines (over-the-counter) and nasal spray. Seems to be just part of the migraine. Wish I had better news! But keep trying with a neurologist. Currently, I'm trying acupuncture with some positive results. Another source, if all else fails, is either the Diamond Headache clinic in Chicago or the Michigan Headache & Neurological Institute in Ann Arbor.
Hope this helps and especially that you get to feeling better! Hang in there!
