Migraine

I have been sufereing from Migraines for 23 years, and thru keeping of diary's it became clear some years ago that I suffer Pure Menstrual Migraine. In turn My migraines last for 6 days straight with no pain free period during that time & most Rescue medications do nothing & I am unable to function as a mother or partner.

I have been to numerous Emergency Depts, but all they can do is give me fluids & that is after sitting there for hours upon hours in brightly lit rooms. I now prefer to stay at home & try to sleep if at all possible with 4 children to care for & a full time job that I am trying to hold down.

I have tried some Preventatives, which did reduce the severity & length but unfortunately some of the side effects were too much to bare. Now am am trialling HRT patches, but am not having much luck there either.

I am starting to look at Abortive medciation again (tried once before & had terrible side effects)

I really don't know what else to do, is there anyone out there in a similar sitution to myself?
