I am so sorry that you are going through this Megan. I cant began to understand, as I did suffer some pain from STD's that was nothing compared to what you are going through. You will be in my prayers and I trully hope that you get better. Are you in the U.S.? If so I would advise you to see as many doctors as you can. I recently switched my doctor because I continue to tell her that I may have PID but she refuses to take the necessary steps to check it out. I too belive she thinks that it's all in my head. God Bless! Good Luck!

Hello Megan - id just take a really stong painkiller and apply some heat to the area - lie down with a hot water bottle and rest its just a painful period ...awful isnt it .

They had a little look inside when you had the lap investigation and they said it was fine and they didnt see anything, im sure if you were going to get an infection from that op it would of happend by now.

Try not to panic but you just need to have a chat to your dr ...in a few days ...not long to wait .

It might ease up in a few days, the first two days are always painful for all the ladies ...me too.

Hope you feel better soon .

Take care

No this is still that sharp pain that gets me stuck in places, that makes me scream so loud my neighbors come to ask if i am ok. It is on my lower right side. but according to my last gyno everything is fine. I have pain all the time sometimes it gets sharp but my period just makes it way worse. I tried extra strength tylonol, midol, motrin, heating pad, bath. nothing worked for me.

I still running temps off and on, throwing up oh yes, getting dizzy, and fainting. when i have pain it is like it all comes at once. i feel so stupid for getting that IUD. my sister in law is a nurse i tried to use a tampon last i had my period and i never before wanted a pain drug so bad. it hurt so bad i couldnt even begin to describe it. But she is going with me to my next dr. She says this isnt normal. i know women who get bad periods this just i couldnt begin to decribe. Its still in my hips, lower back, and right side I dont know what to do.

God , you poor woman, you are suffering. I cannot understand why they are not doing anything about this - i wish i knew what to say on this one , or to be more helpful Megan but i just dont .

First, dont use a tampon, because clearly your not well enough. Just use a sanitary towel from now onwards and for a good long time till you are 100 per cent recovered . I just use them all the time now anyway (sanitary towels ) ...we are lucky now as years ago when i was at school it was a sanitary belt in my first and second year school days and a big thick towel -HORRIBLE....now you carnt hear your wearing them and you carnt tell (no russling noises when you walk ) so dont try to hurt your vagina with these tampons , id leave it for a bit , but if anyone uses thm id say place a blob of KY jelly on the end and a little on the outside of vagina to help ease that in . Just to be safe Megs , dont use them while your sick .

It sound to me like PID, but im no expert or sounds like pain of an overian cyst - but i carnt undrstand WHY if they did they op and looked inside they are not seeing anything ? isnt it awful .
One theory i have is ...you were having PID and you had the lap investigation while having it ...it might have made things a little worse for you pain wize everything will be TENDER and SORE plus there is all kinds of things you can have on the road to recovery , like BV , very bad thrush causing everything to swell ...i was swollen in vagina to the point it was swollen closed plus horrible sore rash...perhaps if you are sore in vagina you must ask them to have a look and they could give you dalacin if your cervix has infection ...it does say that sometimes having that operation can cause things to take a little longer to get better or a few other things so id just go and see him .

If the pain is to thepoint you are screaming ..dont drive to A and E CALL 911 and ask for the ambulance ..they will take you in and have a look at you and if you need to stay in hospital which i think you do by the sounds of it , they will get to the root of it .

All i can say is im so sorry your in this pain ..and i hope you get something done about this soon . If you can hang on to the doctors appointment just explain ...look ..i carnt take this pain any longer ...please help me ..tell him exactly how it is .

Everyones pain levels vary Megs ....remember i had ulcers/absesses in my vagina right up it and on my cervix , plus the pid , the pain of an std , and thrush and BV moving even an inch was vomit inducing and you wouldnt of thought in this century a woman had to suffer that level of pain for so long ..plus they made me have terrible all day diorreah to have a colonoscopy and all the other i did what a nightmare ..above and BEYOND any pain ive ever known ....

Grit your teeth megan and hold on ...you will get though this ...im here to talk to on this forum when you want to ....please let me know how it goes for you .

Sending a hug x go with your family member the nurse to the drs and your husband ...go into the drswith thm let them explain too what going on for you x

I just want to write an update for everyone. And i hope this helps anyone who has chronic pain from PID. I went and had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy on the 22nd of May there they found out that i have gastritis which was causing all the nausea and vomitting. I also have colitis in my colon which needless to say is no fun. I also went to a neurologist who specializes in pain management. i am soo happy that i went he did an MRI and we found out that since the PID was so bad it has damaged all the nerves in my pelvic floor. That is why my pain is so bad. I am on neurontin three times a day, i was on fentanyl (my pain is that bad) but we found out the hard way i was allergic to it. i am sad about that it is the only thing besides demerol that totally takes the pain away and im sad to say that i sound like a druggie. lol. anyways i also have lidoderm patches which numb the area, and percocets which help but do not totally take the pain away. I also have a tummy full of scar tissue it was scary on the MRI it is just a huge black blob. I cried. he told me i will have a really hard time getting pregnant and keeping the baby. He told me that IVF was probably the best thing if i wanted one. i dont know if i could ever risk that. i still have unbearable pain everyday. no job, no school, and i feel awful because hubby and i went to a movie today but we had to leave because i hurt so bad. hubby doesnt understand he tried but since he cannot feel the pain i think he has a hard time knowing what i go through everyday and how the smallest of things are a victory for me. im doing a lot better know that i found the pain dr. i go back to the ob gyn on the 15th so we will see what they say im worried but i wanted you all to know what has been going on since my last post.

Hi Megan - just got email alert so thought id make a quick post . Well im glad they have finally sorted things out for you but its true youve been though quite a lot . Dont worry too much about gastritis - it can make you feel a bit sick though ...i have had two endoscopes examinations i have a hiatus hernia..taking the pills for PID can irritate the osophagus ect i took pep bismol and was given Lansoprazole 30mg , it calmed down a bit after i got better but have taken all kinds for that in past zantac ect ...

You have been though it and colonoscopies are nasty (the preparing for it ..yuk )but well done for getting through them ...

Well at least your husband should now have a good knowlege of PID and related things so thats one ngood outcome isnt it ..

Well i hope you continue to get better , im sure you will get there in the end , im fine but just been told i have another ovarian cyst (not worried but its painful but normal for women to get them) Still look six months preggers so im off to docs which done very well harly any visits so far but off agin next week to get him to check it out and see if he wants me to go for a scan ...apart from that therees no way im letting it disrupt my life ...im grinning and baring it ..lol off out tommorrow night to totter around in dangerous high heels !! no good for strain on the old tummy (which il be holding in ha ha ) so hope i dont get any comments of congrats cath ! whens it due ??? ohh dear im afraid not !!

Get well soon megan and just pleased theyve finally sorted things out ..please let us know how you get on .
