Hi again , you mentioned your bowels ..most important . Have you had a colonoscopy ? have you had a trans vaginal scan ..thats a vaginal probe inside the vagina looking to see if you have a pocket of infection around the end of your bowels . Your doctor need to refer you for more tests she should of said that . You said you had bowel pain, which yes PID but you could have something else causing the pain ..im so surprised she didnt say that .. please go to the hosital were they can tell you what you need to do have you had a test for ovarian cyst i also had that with chlamydia PID . Ovarian cysts are common they can press on the bowel and cause excusiating pain ive got one now as i type ..ive been given dihydrocodeine for the pain . But chlamydia can be in the bowel as well as the throat ..i wish i could say more but i think you need medical test or more medical testand examinations .
best wishes

Re: help...doxycycline

Post a new topicby Vineta on Sat Feb 21, 2009 2:50 pm

Hi,
I am reading these past posts with some alarm. I was diagnosed with PID 3 days ago and started the prescribed treatment of Doxycycline 100 mg/twice a day. I am still having pelvic pain. The doctor didn't think it was likely that I developed PID from chlamydia (I have one partner and we always use condoms) but I am still waiting for the chlamydia test results to come back to be certain. Is Doxycycline only for chalmydia? Should I go somewhere else to ask about this? I am very worried about the irreversible damage being done.
