Post a new topicby tati89 on Thu Aug 21, 2008 4:09 pm

I am scared out of my mind because I want to have children and I have had PID again. I already had the shot and two different medicines. The second medicine is done tomorow and although the pain is not as severe as it used to be, it still hurts and I am scared. I don't know wheteher to go back to the doctor or not. :-( Please answer if anyone has had pain present still after all the medications!!!

Hi Tati - dont worry - sometimes it takes a few tries with the medication to get rid of it once and for all ..sometimes when a person takes the medication it seems to go better for a little bit and they have to do another course of antibiotics - if a bit of bacteria somewhere in the pelvis and the anibiotics didnt quite clear it ...it hasnt come back for me..but i didnt have any shots *but* i took a lot of repete courses of the same two antibiotics all at once ...they were making sure ..then agin mine was quite bad . All i can say is try to be as relaxed and cool as you can ..its very frightening especially for us ladies who havent yet had children ..me included ..now Tati ..i just want to give you some very real and true hope here ..i used to make a lot of post of this board and still come back from time to time ...if you saw some previous posts of my experience you will know i can relate totally ...heres the good news ...a lot of cases of PID have a very good outlook and i post on British forum too where women have had PID and suffered and they are posting to say im 16 weeks pregnant ect ...which is great news isnt it ...dont worry its come back ..but im sure they have medicated you as soon as you have began experiencing symptoms ...its when its just left for a long time and it keeps happening without getting treated ...Just want to tell you i had the worst case of chlamydia recorded in my area (the chlymydia team told me that ) then i got PID but i did make an amazing recovery and now im very fit and healthy it took some time to get there though ..and yes i still have my fertility and even at 40 i have every intention of having a child naturally - theres no reason why not to ..dont be frightened ..take whatever meds they have given you ..and do not hesitate to visit the doctor 3 or 5 days into your meds so he can check on your progress ..monitoring your health through this is important to see if your improving ect ..but it is not instant and it can take 6 to 8 weeks to begin to feel better ..all cases can be different so hope you feel better sooner ...Take care and just get pleanty of rest and most important try not to stress and ask any questions you want regarding children to the doctor ..thats what he is there for !! to help you understand whats happening and the outcome ...but there are so many women who have gone on to have children after PID ,,thats the truth . I am sorry your going through this and i hope you feel better really soon .

Hugs

Tati - just want to add two word and i think these are so important ....REMAIN POSTIVE >...with a good strong frame of mind it has a huge effect on health ..it releases hormones ..i swear this helped me get better plus exercise and eating foods that were good for me - you can google this subject ..try not to look at information about PID at this time or anything about infertility - it is frightening and has a detrimental effect ..a positive mind helps the body ...i didnt need laporoscopy ...i made the decision not to have that i believe for me that it not having it aided recovery ...let your body heal in its own time but remain positive and dont let negative thoughts or depression take hold .. people survive terrible injuries by refusing to let themselves go into shock or give in ...youl get better its a little set back but im sure you will improve. Dont forget to take regular PAP tests thats most important and never be frightend to ask the drs questions to help you understand your fears and anxieties ..
