OVARIAN CYST AGAIN...

Post a new topicby katty1 on Fri Jun 27, 2008 8:47 pm

Hi everyone ...ive had a little painful setback ...i have another ovarian cyst on my left ovary . This time the pain has travelled up to what seems my left kidney just at the bottom of it . The pain started about 10 days before 16th June and carried on through. I felt very nauseaous today and very sharp pains on my left side . Doctor gave me 400mg of Ibruprofen (large packet) and Dihyrocodine tabs 30mg because paracetamol was not working . I was worried it could be PID but he seemed to know by examining me he sid my abdo was distended and the left overy...he sid its called a functional cyst .

I feel really embarrassed because my stomach is absolutely huge (look six months pregnant) he just told me to rest and use the painkillers. He seems pleased overall with my health and told me not to worry but im a bit nervous as im hoping i dont have to have any hospital visits suddenly. He didnt arrange a scan he just said straight away what it was ...i seem to be having this a lot but this month was the most painful and the pain in my side and back and only directly on my left overy . Im crossing my fingers that it goes soon ...he also said i had middlesmertz (excuse wrong spelling) its very painful and painful to walk ...

A little setback for me ..wonder if any of the ladies on PID forum have experienced this too its agony but its not PID tummy is very large .

best wishes to all xxx cathy

I had PID when i was 16. that was the first time i had it. I ended up ahving it a total of 4 times. I was a virgin btw. and my doctor told me that the bactiria in my uterus was turning against me. I had surgeris LOTS of the for cysts and tumors. And at the age of 28 I had a hyst. Cysts are very painful. And when they do rupture It hurts like HE double hocky sticks. If I where you Id go toa diff doctor and see what he says it never ever hurts to get a 2nd opinion. Sry for typos my meds make it hard for me tothink at times. I had always had very painful periods. All the scans showed normal, BUt when they took out my uterus, It was 2xs the size it was supposedto be and full of tumors, all non cancer. It had so many they stopped counting and stopped testing them all. the doctor then told me that explained all the times that my period layed me up for 3 or 4 days a month. there is also somethingelse. and i can think of the name of it right now. But it is also very very painful, they ended up taking out the rest of my female organ due to it. Now i have 1/4 of an ovary. and i get csts on it all they time in fact i ahve one on it right now. Get a second opinion. PID causes ur stomach to be huge, and is very painful BUt it also causes you to throw up. and have high fevers. ANd the pain from PID dosent go away and come back. from my experiance. sry for typos. and miss spellings. Cysts are normal when your ovulating. I was told by my doctor. But go see a diff doctor if your worried. it never hurts

Ok i had to look it up. Endometriosis can be very painful and also cause you symptoms go back to you doctor and make her check you for that, that was the reason that they removed the rest of my female organs, here is the information on it
Endometriosis symptoms are often most severe just before and during the menstrual cycle and get better as the menstrual period is ending. But for some women, pain is ongoing and does not improve during the menstrual cycle.3 Ongoing pain is especially common in teens with endometriosis.

Symptoms may include:

Pain, which can be:
Pelvic pain.
Severe menstrual cramps.
Low backache 1 or 2 days before the start of the menstrual period (or earlier), becoming less during the period.
Pain during sexual intercourse.
Rectal pain.
Pain during bowel movements.
Infertility, which may be the only sign that you have endometriosis. Between 20% and 40% of women who are infertile have endometriosis.1
Abnormal bleeding. This can include:
Blood in the urine or stool.
Some vaginal bleeding before the start of the menstrual period (premenstrual spotting).
Vaginal bleeding after intercourse.
