pidi found out i had chalymdia at the age of 17 and gonnerea and chalymdia at the age of 18.
I had a routine check about a yr ago, i was clear of any sti but when the doctor done her examination on me she actually use her hand for the examination she said she cudnt find my cervix about 2mins later she found it i dont know if i had PID at them times or that was a indication i had it but i reckon that doctors should explain not just about sti's but also pid because i know a vast amount of girls who are sexaully active and dont know about this the only reason why i know about pid is because i had to educate myself by looking it up as doctors seem useless as in sense of they dont have a clue. im 19 now and since December 07 me and my boyfriend never use condoms where both sti free but the problem is ive never got pregnant but i feel like i have pid i have lower abdomen pains and yellow discharge. I went to my doctor who arrange for me to have a scan to see whats going on but she said it going to be a month+ untill i can get my scan. i'm quite angry as a month could cause alot more damaged and im positive that i have pid but i obviously dont want to have it. But i read some other post and i agree that sometimes you have to excel the suitation for things to get seen to.I was wondering with the scan can they tell you if your fallipian tubes are block in way? i want to know but in ways i dont want to be 19 and find out im infertile. Hopefully in a months time i can come back with positive news about my scan.
Re: pidHi Chickaxi - your post just came through on my email . Ok C, i will try and help you as best i can and hope you get better soon . First, im sorry your going through this , but, hang in there and lets see what they can do for you very soon . First, you know im posting from UK , a few things might be different on how things get done there our different countries and ways but some of it might be useful. I have to say that is all only from experience of chlamydia and me getting PID so im no expert but see if any of this can help ...heres a few things for you to check off as you read i will type it as a little checklist ...
1) Did you take ALL of the medication regulary that they gave you for the Gonn and Chy ? without leaving any of the pills out? 2) Have you had a change of partner since you took the pills for the Gonn and Chy ? or do you think (hope its ok to say this, please dont take offence ) your boyfriend has been unfaithful even just once or if you had sex just even one time with anyone else apart from your guy ....or to say it in a clearer way are you absolutely sure theres no possible chance there could be some reinfection with the sti . Hope its ok to put those questions for you to check off in your mind - its just for you to be sure and because you said that your not using condoms at the momnet with your boyfriend . I wouldnt worry about the examination with your cervix , she was probably just having a little general check and it seemed like a long time . The main thing is you say you are having lower abdominal pain and yellow discharge ? ...Its only a little guess C, but it could be one of a couple of reasons ...first one ...dont be upset about this but it might be a possibility that there could be some sti ...even if both of you are faithful to your knowledge it would be really worth a check both you and your boyfriend as it has been a little bit of time since i understand you had a last check up ...if your sure theres NO sti of Chlamydia and GHonn try a check for something called TRICHOMONAS , this can give you some yellow /green discharge a bit of pain passing water ...it will have a bit of an odour to it and it can occasionally cause some tummy pain ...Its not serious but men can have it too but show no symptoms ..but would need some treatment for it ..there is something we use here called broad spectrum trichomonaside and it can be used inserted to treat thrush (yeast infection) at the same time otherwize metronidazole tablets ect will clear it up . Or it could be BV bacterial vaginosis which will caurse a discharge (usually with a strong odour) or just a yeast infection sometimes that can look a little bit yellow as well as white it sometimes a bit confusing and you could use Gyno -dakarin intravaginal cream or may of the yeast products on the market to treat that ...But the best thing i would do is go to GP as soon as possible or ANY place they test for STI so they can swab you / take a culture to identify what this discharge is ...and rule out it is not chyl or gonn or anything else ...like trich , or bacterial vaginosis . Sometimes very bad yeast infection can cause abdominal pains like a period pain all the time and if you are run down you can get that and with all the medication you might have taken ...so id really get the thing with the discharge looked at and check with them . The next thing ...if you know you are clear (and clear of BV , trichomoniasis, yeast infection ect ) yes lower abdominal pains (like period pain ) and yellowish discharge is a symptom of PID it was for me as well as bloody, yellowish discharge so agin if you know you are clear for all the things above i would still go to your dr and tell him how serious this is ...take a tampon in or if you can there is a test called vianylease (i spelt that wrong but it sounds like that ) its like a panty liner you wear for a few hours it comes with a box and before you go into the drs surgery you place it in the box it has a test strip on it . But saying all that , he should be able to tell by examining you and he must do that for you and let him see the discharge (do not feel shy to do this ) its so important , and that should help . About the scan it is a while to wait , so the best thing i can thing to offer you advice is to go and let the sti place just have a little check first to do some swab and cultures , it just sounds as if you have a bit of infection ...but dont worry chickaxi ...i promise they will sort that out for you best to go relly soon ...so can get that visit with a dr if you need it then he will be able to start you an medication for PID when he has ruled out there are no STI present ...Dont be scared about being infertile . Im now 40 ...ohh my gosh !! :-) and im well and happy ...just like i hope you will be soon and im hoping to have a baby one day too i dont sem to have any after effects ...but please go to your doc soon . Take care and please post to let me know how you are ...Cath xand DONT WORRY - youll be ok x
Re: pidThe name of the test for vaginal discharch is Vianalyse ...but it would be better to just go and have the experts take a look but you could always wear the pantyliner if you wanted to show them there as well as well as them giving you the tests ...Good luck and best wishes
