ok i have a nurogenic bladder. and i have 4 times the normal pressure in my bladder when my bladder contracts. my doc has given me two options 1. is cathing every couple of hours or 2. is a sphincterotomy . i have given it a shot with the cathing but it is not working for me i have explained this to my doc and he says no you dont want to have the sphincterotomy theres so many problems with haveing that done and that i should just keep cathing. well theres things i dont like about it. it is way more complicated then just changeing my breif which is what i have done for 12 years now and im use to it and if i do the cathing i still have to wear the diapers because i leak very often and am wet like three or four times between cathing. also i know theres so many things that can happen or go wrong with cathing and i have felt different when doing it ejackulation is painful when cathing i also have pains in my lower back and it is scary i know for intermitent cathing theres a very high chance of infections that can cause alot of problems to me. do any of you know what is so bad about a sphincterotomy that he is dead set on me not haveing it done if i dont have it done im looking at kidney failure very soon please help me give me some advice
