My step-dad is in the ICU because of an urinary tract infection caused by a fistula (or hole) between the bowels and bladder. I would recommend you follow up quickly with the urologist to find the cause of the recurring UTIs. It is important to take care of it. About six weeks ago my step-dad was taken off of antibiotics because of another medicine he needed that interfered with the antibiotics. Now he is in the hospital with sepsis and they aren't sure he's going to make it. He had been in a lot of pain too before going to the emergency room. He took pain meds to help, but it never went away.

Good luck! I hope you get the help you need!
