Post a new topicby livingwith on Fri Jul 11, 2008 3:34 pm

I am 38 years old with two children (youngest is 9 months old). I had an anterior mesh repair and posterior colporrphy and perineal reconstruction in February 2008 - 4 months after the birth of my son. Since then I haven’t looked back. Some women cope well with a prolapse for years, I didn’t and disintegrated mentally and emotionally over a short space of time. During my journey I discovered that I had a number of risk factors that significantly shortened the odds for me in ter...Read the full article

I am so glad everything worked out for you. I wonder if I would have had a better experience if I had been instructed to wait 12 weeks instead of 6 before resuming activities.

I am 25, vaginal prolapse both Rectocele and Cystocele 3rd degree(I think 3rd degree becasue it hangs by the opening of my vagina), have 2 children too, a 4 1/2 yr old and a 1 month old. Based off your story I wonder if my deliveries, tears and doing to much housework right after delivery did this to me. My 1st child my baby was crowing for 1hr & my contractions stopped and I needed pitocin, my 2nd delivery with my last baby was fast and I did not push for that long. I have to ask how you got your surgery approved by insurance 4 months after childbirth? My OB/GYN is telling me I need to wait at least 6 months to have her file ith insurance and at 1st she told me to wait 1yr if nothing was improving, she tried telling me kegels could fix my prolapse, but I know after research and plain common sense my problem will not magicaly go away from a yr of kegels! What should I do to get my surgery sooner/the insurance cover it sooner? I am suffering with this condtion and want relief sooner!

I hope that you are doing well today and can lend me some advice and comfort!
