Hi, I've just found this site and have been reading the various entries and posts from everyone. Firstly it's great to hear that i'm not alone, therefore neither are you. I'm not sure yet the actual degree of prolapse i'm at apart from being told it is the uterus and the bladder. Stress incontinence fluctuates from being ok to just losing it. There doesn't appear to be a pattern so I think it must be determined on where the organs are pressing at that time. I suppose they must shift around quite a bit in there?
I like you have real problems with poo too and have to do the old rubber glove bit. I hate all this i really do. I'm 46 now but will never openly admit to that, so getting older is not pleasing me atall. I had two very large babies when i was 20 and 22 and then had another when i was 39. Bit of a gap. I had always been very fit. Menopause kicked in i think when i was around 42 although I had been diagnosed with post natal depression I wonder if i was actually peri menopausal.
Now i get a period every 2 to 3 months but like you am in a lot of pain. I get very bloated and feel like everything is dragging down. I am fatigued, tierd, grumpy you name it. I also teach so am on my feet all day, as well as running after a six yr old.
My appoinments have been shifted back to july and till then i have to measure the amount of pee i do daily and restrict the volume of fluid intake to 21/2 litres a day. Not great when your constipated too.
I will be very interested to hear how you do. Take care.

hi there. i was on this site about 4-6 weeks ago. i had been having troubles with bladder control. when i was on the toilet it actually felt as though my insides were falling out and i could see it too. the first time i went to the doctor about it was back in 2001 and i was told to do keagel axercises. yeah nthat did nothing. i had my surgery only 5 days ago. it was called anterior and posterior vaginal repair. and yes it was painfull. but now its been 5 days. im feeling alot better. im still experiencing some pain but not too bad considering how i was a few days ago. i had my cathader removed yesterday and sometimes its hard to pee but for the most part its ok. i was talking to a woman on here who had the same surgery but alot more difficulty. if she reads this i would like to thank her for answering some of my questions. my advice is to keep pushing the doctor and if he wont believe you see another one. at first i was very embarassed to talk about it but i am so glad i did. at 28 years old i am one of the youngest people i have heard of having this problem. but like lots of other women my body didnt handle having babies very well. i wish you all the best of luck. i hope all works out for you. nobody deserves to have difficulty doing something as simple as going to the bathroom. if you have any questions i will try my best to help answer them. thats the most helpfull part of this website i found is the woman who tried to answer mine.

HI THERE,

I WAS READING YOUR POST AND I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING IT FOR ABOUT 4-5 YEARS AND DECIDED I HAVE TO HAVE THE SUGERY DONE. I AM STILL GOING THRU SOME TESTS BUT BY NEXT MONTH I WILL HAVE THE SURGERY DONE. I PRAY ALL GOES WELL. YOUR DOCTOR CAN DO THE SURGERY ON YOU EVEN IF YOU HAVE STAGE 1 IF YOUR IN PAIN AND HAVING AS MUCH PROBLEMS AS YOUR HAVING. DON'T WAIT LIKE ME UNTIL IT IS STAGE 3 WHICH MEANS THE RECTOCELE IS LARGER. I AM SCARED I WILL ADMIT BUT I HAVE FAITH IN GOD THAT ALL WILL GO WELL. I HAVE MY AGE AGAINST ME BUT I AM A FIGHTER TOO. I DO KNOW THAT I WILL TAKE IT EASY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS TO ALLOW IT TO HEAL. BY THE TIME YOU GET THIS POST YOU WOULD HAVE GONE TO THE DOCTORS. LET ME KNOW WHAT THEY SAY. IF YOUR GYN DOESN'T TAKE CARE OF IT YOU CAN SEE A RECTAL SURGEON. I HAVE A RECTAL SURGEON GOING TO DO THE RECTOCELE AND MY UROGYN WILL DO THE REST. MY PELVIC WALL HAS COLLAPSED ALSO. I HOPE THINGS WORK OUT FOR YOU AND ME BOTH.

TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS...TOOTS
