PID question...

Post a new topicby scarysituation on Mon Jul 14, 2008 4:37 pm

Ok, so I had Chlamydia earllier this year, however I am unsure how long I had it for.

I was treated in a walk in clinic in British Columbia, Canada, with the wrong antibiotics :-( after another 3-4 weeks of pain, I had a urine test for Chlamydia and was told that it was negative (two days later). On the third day (after the test) I had developed a serious sickness of severe upper and lower abdominal pains and constant vomitting.
At midnight on the fourth day I checked myself into an emergency department and got rehydrated and tested for all sorts of conditions along with x-rays and ultra sounds. I was sent home after 6 hours on a drip and morphine, only to called 10 minutes after arrival at home, by the doctor to ask me back as they had found something on my xray. I arrived back at the hospital and was rushed through to an MRI scan. Once I had the results of the MRI I was told I needed an operation on my small intestine that minute or I would die.

Having been told I was clear of chlamydia I assumed this was a freak occurance. However after my life saving surgery two weeks ago, I have been informed that the doctors got my results wrong at the walk in clinic... and I had an absess on my uterus that my small intestine twisted and then got stuck onto the absess....

I guess I really wanted to post this to let everyone know how dangerous this STD is if left untreated.

I was lucky that I managed to find the actual cause of the sickness I had.

My question now is...

After 5 days of intravenous antibiotics and then two weeks of Metronidazole 500mg & Ofloxacin 400 mg twice a day each, is this nasty STD going to still be there????

The last thing that I want is to get sick again. This has been going on far too long, and I am longly to get back to a normal lifestyle again.

Thanks
